Course Objectives:

Upon Completion of this course the student should be able to understand and demonstrate:

  • What prepping tools are needed and what their usage are for and demonstrate control

  • The proper control positions and be able to apply them to the pet.

  • Safety and how to avoid any possible cut or irritations on the pet’s skin.

  • Shaving procedures, steps and demonstrate shaving skills.

  • How to properly cut toenails and demonstrate correct way to cut toenails.

  • Ear cleaning and ear care and demonstrate skill.

  • Master brushing and comb outs

  • De-shedding procedures

  • proper tool movement usage

  • Shampoo Procedures

  • Therapeutic Shampoos

  • Finish Brushing

  • Blow Drying the Pets Coat

  • Bathing & Drying Safety

  • Fleas/Ticks protocols for the salon

  • Speed Techniques

  • Scissor work on Natural coated dogs
